- lolYakuZoku
- Best movie ever might be a stretchnb
- There’s a great interview with the director where he laments how everyone mocked it for years. I do think people were overly critical, it’s not the worst movienb
- No, but it's a lot closer to the worst than the best.CyBrainX

- Yes!
Classic, a forgotten masterpicegrafician - Very enjoyable. A fantastic specimen of American cinema!nb
- Argh can’t tell if you guys are serious or not, sounds line you’re being sincere, but this is qbn...fuck now I have to watch it lol_niko
- Luke Wilson is even brilliant as the straight man. But Martin Lawrence is the shining star in this, of course. Such talent.nb
- Fuck you guys! lol_niko
- This movie is awfulmonospaced
- No, you're awful monospaced, this movie is indeed great!grafician
- oh burnmonospaced
- Roger Ebert himself gave it 3 out of 4 stars. And 4 stars is reserved for like the Godfather, 2001, etc. So who’s right? Ebert or monospaced?nb

Just finished it. Giamatti was fantastic and so is the kid.
- giving this one a go tonightYakuZoku
- The trailer looks like its an 80's film?HAYZ1LLLA
- Trivia: Even though the movie features a heavy film look reminiscent of the 1970s, the movie was entirely shot digitally on the ARRI Alexa Mini.BuddhaHat
- All the hallmarks of celluloid film, like the film grain, halation, dirt, and gate weave, were added in post-production.BuddhaHat
- HAL90010
- is this about fracking in oklahoma?imbecile
- Very short resume: A father travels from Oklahoma to France to help his estranged daughter, who is in prison for a murder she claims she didn't commit.HAL9001
- Damon is very good in thisHAL9001
- I was surprised in a lot of ways by this film. Go in blind, there's a good chance you'll enjoy it.BuddhaHat
- I like Tom McCarthy films. They're usually a bit slow and sombre, but they feel really human. I felt the ending of Stillwater was rushed.Ianbolton

Napoleon on coke.
I wouldn't say it's good, but it's definitely hilarious. And I'm not sure if that was intentional.
I was considering leaving in the first 15 minutes because of the exaggerated story aimed at American audience, but then the edibles kicked in and I ended up watching it, occasionally laughing out loud.
Also 70mm version sucked, it was very blurry.- lol. nice... sounds hillarious... the trailer came off kinda whacky already..neverscared

It’s impossible to pick a favorite from these late-career Woody Allen pics but this one is really great. Alec Baldwin has some hilarious lines
- I missed that one, reviews were so-so back then and I didn't give it a chance. Had completely forgotten about it... Thanks for the reminder!spl33nidoru

My kids wanted to watch Spider Man: Across the Spiderverse this past weekend. I'm not a comic book movie fan so I had no idea what it was about and wasn't too interested. But when we put it on and I saw the art direction and the sound design, I was in. Amazing. Every frame of every scene is just insane. Apparently it took something like 6 years to make. Highly recommend!
- Well, shit! Now you need to watch Into the Spiderverse!! Came out in 2018, it was just as good!elahon
- I loved the first one. I found this one a visual assault. I couldn't finish. I was really disappointed.lemmy_k
- I also felt the second one is a visual assault, they've said the third is going to be even more chaotic visually.ApeRobot
- Oh wow, okay. I'll check the first one out.stoplying
- into the spider verse is far superior to acrossimbecile

- Worth checking out but I’m still undecided. Way too much smiths.thumb_screws
- Starts off a bit slow for me but then picks up and damn ... that Florida scene was really well staged & intense. Also the sound design by Reznor sharp as always.Ramanisky2
- Technically, it's an easy 10/10. Story-wise, it's three bags of popcorn.crazyprick

- I mean: nice packaging, but not nutritious.rzu-rzu
- Still blows my mind that it cost $150M to make this piece of art.Ramanisky2
- It was pretty thin on plot with an anti-climatic ending. It had some great moments, but as a whole, it's pretty meh.ETM
- Watchable, good. Well done. Good acting. Not much. Its ok +ben98
