My outfit TypographyShop has just launched a new line: The Ten Commandments of George Lois. http://bit.ly/cdKS14 featuring the wit and wisdom of the legendary AdMan.  Commandment #1: Great ideas can't be tested. Only mediocre ideas can be tested.

From his groundbreaking work at Doyle Dane Bernbach to his controversial Esquire covers to "I want my MTV," George Lois has carved a career sans equal in the advertising industry.

If today's young designers, art directors and copywriters ever needed a savior in the form of a living mentor, it would be George, famous for saying "Advertising is not a fucking science, advertising is an art —no questions about it."

George chose this design from among our treatments. Set in Franklin Gothic No. 2, designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1902 and News Gothic, a related 1908 Benton creation.

A portion of the proceeds from sales of this shirt will benefit the Herschel Levit scholarship fund at Pratt Institute, Mr. Lois' alma mater. Commandments #2 through #10 will be released on a monthly basis.
