Best thing is to get the Mac guy involved if its still not working. To reiterate above, if nothing is lighting up/spinning round then it sounds like a power supply issue, (make all changes / test when switched off at wall)
Check lead plugged in at both ends and switched on at wall, voltage setting is correct, remove new drive and reinstate original taking care to seat correctly and taking static precautions.
