May I suggest that you are looking at sites for expensive things. Not always the case that expensive and luxurious go together.
There are agencies that specialise in this like:
http://www.createthegroup.com/en…
http://www.winkreative.com/and there are high net worth networks like:
http://www.giltman.com/sale/men
http://beta.luxurysociety.com/Click around sites that have lots of expensive shit on them like http://www.bornrich.org/
http://www.luxuryculture.com/got…
http://www.howtospendit.com/
look at the brand sites for the brands you see in there etc.I specialise in this stuff and I can assure you they look like "print" sites for a reason. They are all about photography, not wizz bang webbery.
- thanks matey, unfortuntely I have no photography yet, so will have to see what I get back!Not_Just_Another

- one of really exclusive (as in dictionnary) and classy hotels I've been to: http://www.palafitte… the site is shit, but the hotel is fantasticpopovich

Most of the sites listed are based on luxury goods. Hence with out the brand, it does not carry the notion of expensive.
Exception to Wink and Monocle. Its the lure of exclusivity not the product.

If you do not have photography, use of lovely type would make it rather above the fray.
- thanks matey, this is the hurdle I have. The product isn't high-end, so the design will have to compensateNot_Just_Another
