I'm guessing it's an american term... Does it mean production design monkey or something more senior?

usually its more production designer oriented...could still be doing conceptual work but churn and burn maybe too.

American term? I wouldn't go that far. My guess is production artist.
- Amicus0
aren't production and artist almost mutually exclusive terms?
- I've done a ton of production work and I'd definitely say it's an artmonospaced

our industry is filled to the limit with douchebags who use unnecessary terms and job titles all the time. why are we surprised?

Studio designer is in the production side, they do comping, presentation books, final mechanicals. Basically, they are the AD's bitch in some agencies.

So they're an artworker whose job title received a 2.0 rebrand?
- vaxorcist0
maybe more of a stylist than an art director.... basically means executing somebody else's ideas and/or making logos bigger all day long??
- airey0
yeah, that used to be called a 'mac operator', 'junior designer' or 'DTP operator'.
- Frosty_spl0
They are the ones stuck with mounting boards all night long for new business pitches.
- MrT0
So zray, are you going to apply?

2 cups?

They've come to me with little more than this job title and a generic to the point of useless job description. I will speak to them but my ego's way too big to fit into a junior role so probably will be a short conversation.
