Thanks MCP!
ive come to understand HDV is a bitch, but have no other cameras - i shot 1080p, 25fps.
yeh i usually use image sequences and movs as they're the most full proof and are very rarely problematic, i just needed all the footage to put AE. im not a fan of premiere, im much more familiar with AE.
Cheers champ! :P

don't shoot HDV.
it's barely decent for editing with but even worse for compositing.
edit your shots together. convert only the shots you need for your composite into something composite friendly (tga sequence, animation quicktime movie, etc)

Howdy gents.
I did some filming on a Sony HDV cam. Captured mpegs in premiere from the cam. The mpegs dont open in After Effects as they're Mpeg2 (progressive) - despite being captured in premiere, and to convert them to anything takes about 435 years.
know of a work around? or must i do some converting to mp4 (H.264)?
Cheers
