I have one. It a cheap fun little camera to use. And batteries last forever in it.

yeah I got one that I use for work, interviewing consultants etc..... good for the price and I echo what others say about the sub-par audio. I love it.

I just got the new Flip MinoHD 120
http://store.theflip.com/en-us/p…. Not bad, yes the audio capture isn't that great, but I'm not using it for audio capture.

I have the UltraHD. It's actually not bad—you can get some great shots. For little cameras like this, it's more about getting good shots, not how great the camera image resolution is (which is pretty decent). I shot a wedding on one of these, and the end results was well-received by the newlyweds. Lack of image stabilization is the most critical drawback to these cameras.

I have the UltraHD too. It's awesome for what it is. Small, convenient. Pretty good picture when you've got enough light. Just keep your hands steady!
Here's a video, shot last summer. Lots of color treatment going on so it's not the best example of straight-out-of-the-camera video quality, but you can have fun with it.

I am thinking on getting an UltraHD for an upcoming vacation trip I have with the family. I was about to buy a regular camcorder since it's the newest baby's first... but I am strongly considering getting this one instead for family filming, parties, etc.
Is it a good alternative or should i still get a regular camcorder?

I have one. They are pretty shitty, IMO. There's jackshit for image stabilization and the mid- to low-light sensor is garbage. Buying a tripod is great and all, but the reality is that you will probably have more instances where you need/want to use it without the tripod. There's some daddy blogged out there on YouTube who did a great review of the Flip camera next to some other one that was cheaper, and it got blown away.
The Flip cams are good if you don't mind mild quality.
I shot a wedding with one, turned out alright, but shaky as fuck in some parts— http://www.vimeo.com/9116932

I would def go for the kodak zi8... biggest issue with these small cameras is the mic, the zi8 has a mic input!
