Has anyone gone here, or have any experience with the school? Is it hard to get in?
I'm thinking of gaining some more formal education in graphic design and have heard good things about this place.

As far as I know all work from this academy is 'less applied' and more 'artsy' than other academies in the Netherlands.
- I can confirm that. The majority is, but not all the work is non appliedJordy

I see. One of the main reasons I like the look of studying in the Netherlands - besides it's reputation for good design, is the cost. It seems considerably cheaper than universities in the UK for example.
Are there any other institutes you would recommend looking into?

werkplaats typografie is more 'beschutte werkplaats typografie'.
To much of the same is produced there. Than Rietveld is superior and much more diverse...

You'll have a great time, be pushed to get off the beaten track, which is good. The education on the other hand, can be pretty crap. Not too hard to get in, though. They've loosened the apllication procedures to get more students (thus money).....
