Anyone got one of these buggers?
They don't seem to last as long as advertised...

Haven't noticed my battery life slippin' yet. Although if you leave a disc in the drive it tends to suck juice a little quicker. Must be because it spins up every time you kick it out of sleep mode or turn it on.

You can see the battery 'health' in System Profiler. If you are still in warranty and it isn't performing as it should, hassle Apple about it. I once had a battery replaced by them (for free) even when I was just outside of warranty.

I did a system update that fixed the disc drive spinning on wake-up. I also turned off the keyboard backlight. i get nearly 7 hours of a charge now.

The one in my older MBP is slipping some - but I haven't drained it totally as much as I probably should have. My new personal MBP is still lasting. I drain it once a month at least - otherwise it's plugged in.

after 3 years the battery on my current mbp started warping, and i had to replace it. i really want to get a new laptop this year, but i'm a bit untrusting of the batteries, and this unibody case doesn't help that. i really want to be able to swap it out if i need to.

My original battery and adapter died on the same weekend, 3 year old MBP 15", last spring. Had to replace them both out of pocket. It's only about 8-10 months now, but my new battery is already flirting with 92-94% maximum health.
