Clicking View Portfolio shouldn't be the "only" way to view work.
Try putting Next and Previous side by side.
I like the simplicity. I was able to browse your work fast.

Surprised no one has commented on not being able to click on the stars for navigation.

Nice work, clean simple lines, fast, would be nice if the stars worked (kept clicking the things)... otherwise - why the double barrel derringer? Just curious...

It's not that the site design is ugly - it's just that, for photo sites, it's best to have nothing compete with the images :) Nice work.

Okay, I guess I have heard it 50 times now, but I guess my question is "why?", when it comes to making the stars clickable. It is being used as a device to show your position on the timeline. It's not like you can see the image you are clicking on. If people were clicking on the stars, which is an awkward way to think about moving through the photos (having to move your mouse every time you click), then it would be easier to skip images I might want for them to see. I would just assume have no stars than make them part of the clickable navigation.

Haha, love the attitude.
"If people were clicking on the stars, which is an awkward way to think about moving through the photos..."
You got at least 10 people (designers) ^ that clicked on them, so I am guessing is not that awkward and perhaps, who knows, YOU might be the one that's wrong, instead of everyone else.
And after you are done deleting the stars, you can move onto 'accepting constructive criticism well' exercises...

if you really don't want to have the stars clickable, you should at least invert the colours on them so that active is pink and inactive is grey. Grey being a more appropriate colour for something that isn't clickable. On that note - why are some of your links grey at rest and pink on hover and some of them the other way around?

I think the images are great. The designer should shoot himself in the face, tho!
