"What I was really hanging around for, I was trying to feel some kind of a good-by. I mean I've left schools and places I didn't even know I was leaving them. I hate that. I don't care if it's a sad good-by or a bad good-by, but when I leave a place I like to know I'm leaving it. If you don't, you feel even worse." -- Chapter One
Good-bye then. RIP

Well, I guess he's really dead. And no one has a picture of him that's less than 60 years old...

His book prices are now going through the roof....

I think I read every book he ever published. Great writer. But kind of a downer, huh? I think reading his books made me clinically depressed for 2 years.

Fuck it. Hadn't written a book in a long time.

“That's the whole trouble. You can't ever find a place that's nice and peaceful, because there isn't any. You may think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write "Fuck you" right under your nose."

Wow, damn. Salinger and Miramax on the same day. That's a tell tale sign of the apocalypse.

I hated reading when I was younger. Catcher in the rye was the first book I finished and made me want to read more. RIP Sir. Thanks for the books.
