... is what someone told me once.
I wonder if you could help me with something?
I have been thinking of working on a product for Freelance designers to help them become better at all that 'business stuff' like marketing, finance etc... using my 12 years experience and a bunch of people I know that have done pretty well at freelancing..
What information would need to be in that pack to make it worth buying???

the product should be very well designed

Generation of legitimate leads is the initial major hurdle. Beyond that, turning leads into clients; keeping those clients; staying profitable.
Unfortunately this has all been written about by many people.
- But has it been delivered in a way that you can understand or follow to make permanent change?breadlegz

It's true.
On the flip-side, businessmen tend to make crappy designers. So maybe there's hope for humanity afterall.

Examples, lots of great examples that can be modified to your liking. Like a template, but for the business and writing part of things. Things that simplify (or even automate) the process. Like SAP for the small freelance designer. Let the designers do the designing though. I don't want cheesy invoice templates. Just make it simple to understand and easy to implement. Let's not forget cheap (or cheaper).

an online tool... whereby i can time projects, and add clients quickly without having to add all their details before I can start putting in time for them... I've no need to put their phone number in etc... with invoices that i can design on the fly perhaps on my phone, and update invoices there too... then allow me to put their full details in before I invoice. This along with some kind of preview of how my performance translates across the next year would be cool too... Just really nice tools to organise stuff...
If it was on an iphone, I'd like to be able to photograph the paper receipts i get on purchases, just so that stuff is recorded
- that's a good idea... combined with OCR tracing it'd be a winner app! $$$$$janne76

@must_dash
Harvest doesn't tax you to much with required details and it has free form invoicing. And it has an iPhone app.

Harvest is still too complicated
