This is brilliant. And he has 100% positive feedback on 46 transactions which is quite impressive as well.

i thought the title was funny, a nice juxtaposition to the fact it's a plain black box that doesn't do anything. (i guess the sleekness could have sort of that mysterious/menacing quality reminiscent of the monolith in 2001. though, having the ethernet plug sticking out of the side kind of ruins that.)
the idea of it perpetually selling itself is interesting. reminds me of old stories of cursed objects, (ie monkey's paw, hope diamond) where the object passes from owner to owner, with a wake of destruction in it's path. well, missing out on the destruction part though.
- Hmm, at $2.6k USD I think the destruction references the wallet =Przrffglyr

LOVE IT!

Given the conditions of the contract, it would perhaps have been more appropriately entitled "A tool to deceive and enslave".

This is much more genius than anything Hirst has done.

Clever idea, can it double as a lolcube though?

MUCH MORE GENIUS.

if you buy it and dont connect it to the internet to do its thing, it ceases to be art.
- or does it?shitehawke
- if you don't connect it, does the artist buy it back from you?jazmine

I think it's cool, be it art or a well marketed product. I understand the criticism and art is meant to be criticized. However the undertone I interpret saying "let's see if I can get away with this shit!" I find appealing alone, and isn't that what a lot of art basically attempts. lawl

It's not art - if you steal it from a museum it'll stop working :P
