Is it for real?, i mean, did that mr brainwash really exist?
Or is it a big scam organised by banksy an shepard to prove the world that "they are" the true street artist, without saying it directly??
- ukit0
It was OK. Entertaining, but not amazing. Good for a laugh or two.
Obviously Banksy is in the process of cashing in on his newfound fame, but trying hard to do so in a way that does not offend the hipster demographic. Hence the show of second tier "Banksy rip off art" by fake artist Mr. Brainwash. So many layers of sarcasm and irony, he should be made an honorary member of NTC:)

I thought it was fun to watch. Clearly he's taking the piss but good for him if MBW is actually selling for what he claims he and fairey are laughing all the way to the bank.
The whole segment talking to the interns about how MBW 'makes' art is priceless.
- ukit0
The thing is "selling out" and admitting he wants to make $ off his art would rub people the wrong way. But framing it as a piss take on the art world (the same people buying his paintings, presumably)...well, they all love that. It's a little bit ridiculous.

FYI - the film's now available in Netflix's streaming library.

Er, are you all fucking mad? I think it's a brilliant statement on the ridiculousness of the art world, and the world the MEDIA has created around Banksy. It's a laugh at how everyone rips everyone off, Banksy included.
The whole thing is a Banksy 'piece'.
Mr Brainwash is a Banksy 'piece'.
None of it is real. The fact that they got people to line up outside a huge LA gallery and come in actually buy this stuff is insane. I wonder if any of it is worth anything?

Worth is determined by our brains.
- Dodecahedron0
There are so many layers of bullshit in this film.
- georgesIII0
I was even able to make some people believe I own a MBW print,
priceless
- CockDiesel0
I just watched it today. I think you're right. It's a big banksy piece. But I think everything it speaks to is true. i.e. LA is a pile of douchebags, most art is horse shit, fairey loves man ass... you know, the typical. Now back to real life where I can watch Dog the bounty hunter boxset.

I just saw this last night.. hate to say it, but sort of glad MBW was the butt of the joke in this documentary..
- You don't think he was possibly sort of ... in on it?Dodecahedron
- Maybe.. I work with him once, so my thoughts are jaded and best to keep to myself.Audria
- worked*Audria
- I think he was the one taking the piss out of everyone who piad so much for his 'art'Dodecahedron
- He takes his work seriously. He wasn't trying to mock the buyers on purchasing worthless art.. that's the buyers bad judgment and taste.Audria

^ + the fact that wasnt a good movie
- Dodecahedron0
Now all that over valued, worthless art is worth something because its in a famous movie.
