Not sure what to really call it, but can you post some good examples of Apple-like UI design. Either web UI or app UI.
Something like http://www.atebits.com/ or http://www.potionfactory.com/ come to mind.

client said "make it look like apple, but don't make it look like apple"?

Well their new (not so new I guess) site kinda sucks, but if you go to the products page and check out each one: http://www.madebysofa.com/

Just use minimalistic layouts with aqua oversized iconic layouts to make it look like Apple but avoid serif New York kind fonts to not make it look like Apple.

There are quite a few sites that you might like in the 'web 2' part of siteinspire...

Designs that obviously try to emulate Apple's style just looks a bit... desperate? E.g. the atebits site.

Have a look through http://www.patterntap.com as well. Can't think of any specifics but there's plenty there in the various categories that fits the bill.

I am curious to who can be credited to the apple design look and feel? Do they have any known AD superheros?

This should also be mentioned

not really the place for a rant, but what still baffles me is the latest itunes (v9 i think?) ui/ux. possibly the worst thing i've ever seen come from apple.
what's with the tiny scrolling list of songs and why can't i drag the sample songs into a playlist for consideration, etc, etc?
microsoft could have even done better on this one.
