  I'm trying to decide between the GF1 and a Canon Mark ii 5d. I know they're a very different cameras and ideally, I'd get both. I've been itching to get the Canon for some time, especially since I have 3 quality lenses. But for the price of the 5d (body only), I could get the GF1 and a couple quality lenses to start.

  I had a previous Canon EOS II and I loved the quality of it. I didn't mind lugging around the extra lenses but having walked around the last two years with a small digital camera (Panasonic FX37), I'm thinking the GF1 might suit me better....

  Anything else I should be considering before making a decision?

  • Picture quality of the GF1 isn't going to come close to the 5d at all. Just portability is the only benefit between them.– canuck
