None of you can claim that you haven't ever had a fantasy that is so depressingly perfect that it will never come true.
I remember a couple years back when I was going through a period of feeling like shit everyday I'd spend most of my time asleep in a dreamworld. I'd wake up and spend the whole day looking at the world and comparing it to the fantasy that I'd created in my head. The difference was that those were just dreams and this is an extremely immersive expensive blockbuster.
Quote me on this because I guarantee that this phenomena is only going to get more and more popular as the entertainment industry builds it's technology.

Lets not also forget about the unthinkable atrocities done to Arabs, Chinese, Russians, Cubans, Mexicans, Japanese, Yugoslavians, the Poor, and of course america's own citizens.

the unobtanium is under hometree, how can you possibly be depressed by the nonsensery of it?

Countryman is right (except for the completely unnecessary question marks). I left the film wanting more: more 3D, more Pandora, more action, and more blue boobs.
I also felt that the movie touched on the themes that are so prevalent today: alternate realities (video games, online personas, etc) and Earth's destruction (lack of natural resources, global warming, etc). Combined, I can see how people would want "more" of what was being shown. An alternate reality where resources are plentiful and nature is preserved, combined with the ultimate videogame (controlling a blue alien) is appealing. It almost gives a false sense of hope to those people locked in their basements, stuck to their computers.

I'll be honest: every morning that I've not woken up from dreams involving Pandora, I cut myself.

I haven't seen so many morons all worked up over a movie since James Cameron sank that boat and killed Leonardo DiCaprio.

There's a great opportunity to really piss these people off here actually. Someone needs to start up some videos and posts of people who are sad they can't go to Pandora and annihilate an entire species for corporate greed.

I've got to add - the thought of a movie making more than a billion dollars in less than a month is pretty amazing. And to think they were worried about it flopping... They've made 3/4 of a billion dollars on this pretty much. Incredible.
