  I am not a pc guy and I cannot figure out why outlook is making dups of emails.

  according to an developer the reason is that ms decided to render the emails with their word engine, not IE engine. so whole new ballgame.

  making dupes as in sending two of every email, or receiving two of every email? are you sure it's outlook and not the mail server? can you log into the mail server and verify it's actually outlook that is the culprit?

  have you tried a web client or logging directly into the mail server to verify that it is indeed outlook? sounds like it could be a server misconfiguration.

  Make sure you don't have two accounts set up in Accounts for the same email address. (ie. Maybe you have an account as POP and another that's using IMAP but both are using teh same email address). Can't remember the exact location for that setting but look for something that says Accounts and Settings or something like that (the equivalent of Mailboxes in mail on a mac)
