No one can decide but yourself. I shoot lots of low light stuff so i end up pushing the camera to it's extremes: lens wide open, high ISO (yes, noise...) slow shutter so the images come out blurry sometimes... Thus anything above 2.8 is useless for me.
My main workhorse if Sigma 24-70/2.8. A Russian Zenitar 50/2, Canon 35/2, Tokina 11-16/2.8 and one telephoto Sigma 50-150/2.8.
