Logo / style images for a football (soccer, not american football) platform related to predicting scores and community building.
Tell me what it's missing / needs, in a constructive way, because I'm not sure whether this is the way to go.

Panenka is a iconic soccer player who kind of "reinvented" the penalty. This platform is also reinventing some functionality which wasn't there before yet (can't exactly talk about it).
The logo has to breathe sport and winning, because the name is not instantly clear to the audience (at least not the full audience). Therefore elements like the branch (1) and the "shield" (2) shape have been chosen to communicate the (1) winning element (roman history) and the (2) team/community aspect. The bow that folds around it, is a common element combined with those other to, to also communicate the name if necessary.
Does that answer it a bit?
@ukit: I have been playing around with the shapes already in a plain b/w form in illu but you might be right, it could still use refinement. thanks.

3 works best. reminds me of k swiss though. can't you arc the type to follow the ribbon? feels a little clunky with the letters like that, but perhaps that was the desired effect. Also, the top of the crest flattens out for a bit and it seems unnecessary.
looks nice.

@Jordy
Yep, it does.
Like the others I think 3 works the best, maybe only using white and red gives it more impact?
My biggest problem with the design is that it feels quite generic. While you intention is to use established iconography to convey yr message - I think you should concentrate on adding a unique slant to the design.
I like the Panenka backstory a lot - and if I were you, I'd concentrate on providing more specific visual reference to him (or football) in the design somehow.
Also, the one area which is used to communicate specifics (the main body of the crest) isn't as large as it could be. I can imagine, in a small version of the logo, it might be difficult to make out the olive garland. It seems that the striped area of the crest is simply there for decorative purposes, so this could maybe be reduced to accommodate a larger area for the main crest area?
I think gradients, unless used very subtly - can come off as cliche/tacky. Sometimes it's probably best to avoid them completely.
The location of the ribbon feels quite (/too) central - I think that it could be positioned a bit more sympathetically ... doesn't feel like it's visually in the right position at the moment.
Maybe the ends of the ribbon aren't really necessary, and might detract from the other elements. Reduce everything to the minimum required - keep it as simple as possible, but make it memorable.

Points taken, thanks for the extensive feedback, really appreciated.
Here's a variation taking most of your comments into consideration:
And then here's one with another element, the moustache, for which Panenka was most known, an element which I have been playing around with for some time now, but never really got it in the place where i wanted it to be.
@ukit
Thanks, and yes you're right about the white background, no gradients and all .. Sometimes I just go too fast with things resulting in something that it shouldn't be .. hard to explain ... anyway, especially for you on a white bg with hardly any gradient in it ;)Thanks all for the feedback.

the wheat things.... you have too many leaves and they'd get too small when the logo is scaled down.
