Is there a third party plugin that can do this for illustrator? I have job that has a lot of photos and It would be huge if it could collect all the fonts and images for me...anyone?

there is no prepare for pre-press option? corel has this built in.
- are you praising corel? you should be ashamed of yourself!capn_ron
- illustrator is sub-par by farversion3
- i could list pages of reasons whyversion3
- i suggest you do, V3baseline_shift
- i have, but will start with multi-page documents, pre-press options, bar code generator, the trace function is smarterversion3
- overall it is better for the production print artist i feel in terms of speed/tools.version3
- i mean it's kind of hard to say one draws a better circle than the other, no?version3
- That's it! 3 o'clock at the basketball courts! we are fighting!capn_ron

- no fucking open type support? are you fucking kidding me corel?version3
- I'm just going to reply so this note keeps getting longer.capn_ron
- i really have nothing to say at this point.capn_ron
- i mean, you can make fonts, but you can't read every character out of one? WTF!?version3
- i guess I could wish anyone that makes it this far in the notes a merry christmas.capn_ron
- and a happy new year.capn_ron
- other than that pure unadulterated fairly priced to the point software win.version3

Is it a single page item? If so, you could export it as a high-res pdf.

You should have done it in InDesign.

It's a multi-layer website with a lot of photos!

Trying not to be a jerk here...but if you can create a folder called oh I don't know "Pictures" or "images" where you store the images you use when building, they should all be there, then all you do is take a screen cap of the Links palette and double check when collecting and zip the folder...easy peasy! Or you can just EDIT original from within illy and save them to a folder and then zip!
- STOP MAKING SENSE!version3
- JERK Status ACHIEVED!AMOK
- ...or just use the collect for output script that it came with...see belowmonospaced

There actually IS a collect for output for Illustrator, and it DID get installed with the program, although it is hard to find. You can thank me later. Here is how to do it:
Go into the Illustrator folder on your computer, open the Scripting folder, open the Sample Scripts folder, open the AppleScript folder (by the way, this is on a Mac), and then open the Collect for Output folder. Inside this buried folder you will find CollectForOutput.scpt. Drop any file onto this script and it will package all the links for you.
You're welcome.

I was using Art Files for collecting AI files but I just learned about scripts last week... it was mind blowing.

hey way to go monospaced, it just seemed like the kind of thing that everyone would need :)
- I'm actually shocked that Adobe doesn't make this script easier to access. I think they really want you to use AI as part of the "Suite" insteadmonospaced
- part of the "suite" instead of all by itselfmonospaced
- i fear software is made by developers talking to designers not designers talking to developersversion3

Nice work monospaced! that is a great tool. Glad Adobe put it underneath a bunch of folders for one of us to find.
- Yeah, while I'm pretending to work I can be helpful sometimes.monospaced

I'm finding that it only collects images and not fonts... is everyone else having this problem?
- that is a limitation...not a problemmonospaced
- you talk like a developer, not a designer.fooler2
- I didn't write the damn script.monospaced
