Just from the bits in the trailer it looks pretty close. I'm sure they kept Millar on for reference. If I remember right he said he wanted this to be a movie from the beginning.

The comic is awesome, but I don't expect them to stay too loyal. Look at Wanted. Although it changed dramatically, it was still a fun movie. I am expecting a watered-down version, but it should still be a good time.

Perhaps the most controversial aspect of Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr.'s Icon comic series "Kick-Ass" is Hit Girl – the all-swearing, villain-murdering, cute as a button super heroine introduced mid way through the series. However, while the character's use of "the C-word" made financing Matthew Vaughn's big screen adaptation of "Kick-Ass" that much harder, sticking with Hit Girl's original take became central for the filmmakers.
