Sorry for yet another AS2 question, but I'm really stuck here and Deadline is looming!
SPECIAL CHARACTERS IN MAILTO
in a mailto action I'm filling in some bodycopy. However the french version of the mail is not working. The é and the ê are killing the script. I've tried unicode and &EA and nothing is working. Any Frencher's or FrenchCads online with experience with this... or actually anyone.Cheers People.

have you tried url encoding the var before you pass it to the mail function?
maybe this will help:

Isn't it going to depend on if the user is seeing the email as plain text or as HTML?
Worst case maybe you can just use the standalone letter without the accent.

here's my script (edited for confidentiality) but you get the idea...
shareGrad.onRelease = function() {
}- well so much for confidentially! Opps..... ssshhhh.

well figured it out thanks for the inspiration...
How to do it:
testcopy = escape("all the fancy pants chåratérs gö ìn hêré" );
shareGrad.onRelease = function() {
getURL("mailto:?subject=THE SUBJECT&body= "+testcopy+"%0A%0Ahttp://www.fan...
}
