so the past few days my system is slowly deteriorating when it comes to viewing screen fonts. example:
is wikipedia. the NY times headlines are all italicized and there are a few other websites i visit where the text is suddenly bold or italic or both.
any clue what's happening / how to fix it?

what does this mean "so the past few days my system is slowly deteriorating when it comes to viewing screen fonts"? you mean the whole system or actually only firefox? what do you mean by slowly? if you're going to post a problem you need to tell more details, is it the really the system or only firefox? is it the same in another browser for example? new fonts installed? what font manager do you use? what version of Firefox/Snow Leopard? and finally check google where: http://www.stucel.com/blog/firef…
