anyone know if there is a site that allows you to see a page with no flash installed for broswer detection purposes?

if a client is sending out a link to a flash xmas card i did - if they dont have flash... is there a way of putting a static image behind the flash? like in a div with a background image?

... you can use full html inside the <div> that get's replaced by the flash.

Use Flashblock or NoScript in Firefox to temporarily disable Flash.

Use SWF object for embedding and then install Web Developer Toolbar in Firefox and disable Javascript to see the no Flash content.

Use swfobject standalone, or jquery.flash if you have jquery (smaller, faster)
