BEst Buy did something like this a while back. I'm sure if you read the fine print these companies reserve the right to cancel an order listed at the wrong price.
- Didn't they get caught with duplicate websites on their in-store kiosks listing higher prices?...prophet0NE
- ernexbcn0
hah! I know some guys who purchased the very same, c'mon, everyone who did tried knew that no way that was going to work, 60 bucks for a Mac Mini (even being 1st gen) that was going to be cancelled...
- ernexbcn0
I'm still laughing at that rant, this guy can get a Mac Mini at full price, no way he thought that thing wasn't an error, and he's threatening to make Amazon.ca go bankrupt using his blogger fu? hilarious

a rant yes. but he has a point about pos retailers like a book store, etc. more likely to honour mistakes. it happened to me recently at blockbuster - picked up a $10 PS3 game I didn't need - girl at counter says no way it's supposed to be $30 - i said well you're going to honour this and btw there's two other games sitting there tagged at $10 so I just saved you guys $40... If that were EBgames.com, they would have just cancelled my order.
anyway. isn't there a law in canada that makes retailers honour price tags, mistake or not?...
- ...i almost forgot, i was also holding a .38 and wearing a balaclava...prophet0NE

Thank you Google: "...The Competition Act prohibits the sale or rent of a product at a price higher than its advertised price. The provision does not apply if the advertised price was a mistake and the error was immediately corrected."
http://competitionbureau.gc.ca/e…
As per the rant I think "immediately corrected" is the factor. He ranted about it taking five days - maybe that's considered immediate? And what would Heidi Montag say about all this?
- benfal990
never had problem with them.
btw, welcome to the Internets.
- ETM0
He said it was 5 days and he hadn't received an email. We don't know when Amazon actually canceled the order before he even logged in again. They could have corrected it 5 minutes after he ordered. Yes, they should have sent notice, that's about the only fault there.
But to try to get his web of influential bloggers to even put a ding in Amazon's business this holiday... please. Then again, with an ego like that, he'll probably assume any down numbers are the result of him, rather than the economy.
- exactly, his rant deflates because he can't confirm how fast they fixed it.prophet0NE

Wahhhhhhhhhhhhh
# Crymorenoob 12.02.09No one cares about you or your pathetic crusade. Amazon is the king of Internet merchants. Your efforts are futile.
- scarabin0
he thinks this is going to "make or break" the mighty amazon?
HAHAHA
- scarabin0
even if this somehow persuaded everyone in the world to stop shopping at amazon my constant orders would single-handedly keep the company afloat
- prophet0NE0
Amazon should do an immediate follow-up email to all cancellations that says: "...by the way, say hi to your mom for me."

"Here’s where we are going to get even, and then some. I feel that Analogue has a great network of influential bloggers, social media professionals, and writers—all with significant reach and influence. We are sending this story to as many of these internet professionals as we can—and believe me, Amazon.ca, there are plenty."
...What the fuck.
