NIN has decided to sell all their guitars that are no longer needed. There goes my savings account.

why didn't they sign them...could have pulled in a lot more cash

Not sure, I almost prefer that they didn't. Not a huge fan of people signing stuff.
Currently bidding on this jem.

That NIN is selling a banjo strikes me as amusing.

That's pretty sweet...I bet these will fetch a lot more someday

Stage performance casualty (see photos). Modified electronics. Some electronics missing. No case.

Are these marked up because of the original owner, or are these instruments worth that much naturally (and used)?

Actually, the starting prices are pretty dead on for the retail value. There is 5 days left, and I am willing to bet some of these will be going for over $10k

I've always liked NIN; own all the albums, the 'legs, the videos, seen them live a dozen times since 1994, blah, blah blah - but, even I have to admit that keeping a guitar with a busted neck, missing pickups, et al and then having the balls to sell it on eBay is, well, balls. Enjoy fanboys.

I can see your point of view from outside observer. It just doesn't sound like you are that into music or a practicing musician. Sure, NIN could hock this stuff of to Hard Rock Hotels, or the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 10 seconds but decided to let the public have them. And I can't recall any band of this magnitude in the music industry doing this.
And as far as broken gear goes, that stuff seems more attractive because that is part of NINs persona on stage. They destroy their gear. Sure laugh now, but this stuff will only go up in value.
- TR isn't letting anyone "have them" - they are paying for the privilege.DoktorDavid
- Additionally - you did read the post, right? I would consider I am into music...DoktorDavid

I'm sure big bands have auctions all the time they're just not done on ebay

Nice, too bad it's just guitars
- yeah, the keyboards would be nice - maybe the kickass sequencer...DoktorDavid

It will go up in value if it comes with a certificate of authenticity?
- otherwise it's just another guitar.dbloc
- yep - a piece of sculpture, nothing more, nothing less...DoktorDavid
