Hello, i recently was given a eos 7d.... miles above anything i need but it is fun... but one question i have is to do with live view, my friend who has been using canon eos for years said that the live view takes into account the DOF etc so what you see in the live view is what the pic will be (or at least close) but in my live view the DOF seems to stays the same regardless of apeture? can any one let me know if live view does show the DOF?
cheers
James

set it to aperture priority (with the lens wide open), focus on something close to the camera and then cycle through the apertures (stopping down) and if you can see the depth of field changing you'll know it works
- yeah, cool will try that when i get home. CheersJamesBoynton

Thanks Tungsten, gave it a try and in both viewfinder and live view dont show the correct dof unless you press the dof preview button (which i didnt know existed) which shows the dof by stopping down the lense... makes the image quite dark on small apetures but is great none the less... cheers!
