I like smashing mag for what I find useful

also, just to rant here, but this kind of hardly thought self-congratulatory-masterbatory crap misses the fact that the web has quite a few websites on it. one website that doesn't offer the content you wish it did probably isn't an issue considering you can go elsewhere for the content you do want.
the post spends about half of itself self-promoting what a cutting-edge web legend the author is (which is a great read...), so either this clown is setting the scene for his own online magazine that offers so-called intellectual discussion or he wanted to write for smashing mage and they told him to go fuck a goat. a sentiment i feel like reinforcing.
so if a new design blog / mag / ezine is on the way and if it's from this deep thinker i'd have to call the game early.
smashing mag calls itself a 'mag' not a 'dissertation on thoughts and moods relevant to the design of graphical elements and visual communication' and is a fine place to drop through to take a look at stuff. if you want intellectual discussion (and there's a sliding scale on that definition if this article is anything to go by) then use that web browser to find other sites offering that.
also, it wouldn't hurt this clowns page hits to run off the back of smashing mags link value. certainly crap like this thread and what i've written will possibly add towards the ranking so hurrah, we've all helped some douchebag gain minor points on the board.

Aha, what little do you guys know! I have been following QBN/Newstoday for 6 years and have always loved the vitriol that is spit here so my friend and I made a bet that one day I could make it in here without having to post it myself.
On top of that, I would receive bonus points if I could be called a clown and a douchebag within the first 10 responses. However, I lost the bet where I would be called a douchey-clownnugget. You can't win them all I suppose.
Much love to you guys, you keep me grounded. My recent fame was getting to my head. However, I do ask that you let me keep my shriveled balls.

This is the same sort of aggressive-apathy that tells critics of Fox News to just change the channel, quit bitching.
Airey, your stupidity is painful to witness.

Airey, I must say though, your entire portfolio is full of work that looks like it belongs on one of these mediocre link-list sites.
You seem to know lots of trends. You are what's called a trendwhore. But you have little grasp of fundamentals like typography, layout, composition.
No wonder you're defending these portals. They probably made you. You probably use them as a crutch for your lack of solid grounding in design.

i have a love hate issue with that site. for every one good, useful thing they post, theres about 5-6 bullshit posts. the worst are "50+ blah blah blah"
