That's horrible. Here's how it could have been worse:
Once back when they played Pop Up Video on VH1, a factoid came on during "Free Fallin" by Tom Petty that more people have come out of a coma listening to that song than any other. So right then my girlfriend promised me that if I ever fell into a coma she would play that song for me non-stop until I came out of the coma.
Now imagine that song on loop for 23 years. . .

Some times I wonder if a Coma is better then this. Or passing out, knowing your passed out and feel nothing but know everything. Then you wake up to the noise, screaming and your friends rushing you to the hospital. You say to yourself why did they wake me up. It was peaceful where I was.

sometimes i comfort myself in thinking that all of you, this very website, and the internet itself are all constructs of my mind in a vegetative state.
one day i will wake up and you all will haunt me no longer.

"I dreamt myself away," Mr Houben was quoted as saying in British newspapers.
"I became a witness to my own suffering as doctors and nurses tried to speak with me until they gave up all hope."
He remains haunted by the moment he first woke from the accident and realised something was wrong.
"I screamed, but there was nothing to hear," he said.
