    Look into setting up rsync. It's usually pre-installed on Unix systems, including OS X. If you're not comfortable using the command line, there are GUI helpers available.

    Alternately, if you're using a Mac, you can use SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner to perform scheduled clones of your entire drive onto a mobile drive.
