The whole point is that it isn't trying to do the full on OS.
I'm not gonna drop my Mac anytime soon for that thing, but as a concept it's pretty fascinating.

This looks like a typical well-intentioned product, that is setting itself apart by not 'trying to do the full on OS'. I suspect that in 5 years time though, once everyone and his dog has asked for 'this feature', or 'that feature', it'll just become a hulking piece of crap like windows or osx.
People like hulking pieces of crap because you can use them to do pretty much anything. This on the other hand, just lets you check your email and edit documents in a sub-par office suite.
// I can use my mac for that.
- I guess they're trying to stay ahead of the game -> convergence between web and desktop is occurring.. it's clever but still pisses me off.lukus_W

"Why anyone would think that storing EVERYTHING online is a good idea?"
The younger generation simply don't give a shit about privacy. Only us dinosaurs.

i had hoped for a more thin client approch... still its a step forwards to being unchained from hardware constraints

What an annoying narration.
Personally I don't want all my data stored on the 'innernet' - and I use my computer for more than just browsing the web.
It seem like Google basically just want to take over the world.

I can't wait to drink the kool-aid and just go numb. Let Google take over every aspect of my life.

Why is it so important for a company like Google to go completely overboard...? why do they have to stick their fingers into every pie?
