Mike Abbink, whom I've partnered with on numerous projects over the years, has just posted some of his excellent design and type work:

some solid work, but not really overhwelmed...

"Solid"?.. I have to disagree that the work is merely, "solid". There's some truly powerhouse corporate design there.
But I suppose that's the keyword: corporate.Perhaps you expected some blown-out hipster designer high-concept-bordering-on-fine-a... type of visuals that only speaks to other designers?
I'm impressed. The work is great.

Excellent stuff. Josh's work is top notch as well, I see there's a little overlap on a few projects.

I've always loved his type work, FF Kievit, FF Milo Serif and GE Inspira were my favs from day one. The Five Boroughs typeface is adorable, I hope it will be released someday.

I'm a huge fan of Milo Serif— used recently on a project, really lovely typeface. Also looking forward to Five Boroughs!

Amazing work! I've been waiting for Mike Abbink's portfolio for a while. I did my internship at Method, New York back in 2001 and had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times and he's a very talented and super nice guy. He also gave me a copy of Grid Systems by JMB before I left.
