I'm a college student in Texas, but I'll be in NYC for two months and would really like to find a creative design firm to intern with. I'm leaning towards a more creative look/feel for the resume/coversheet, but want to make sure it's easy to read and print just the facts.

I'm also going to pdf a portfolio.. how many pages and examples should I have? I was thinking 2-3 pages with 4-6 examples...
Any suggestions on resume or portfolio?

why a pdf?
- I've seen some companies ask for everything in PDF. I guess they don't want to run through peoples websites for examples.ejoeyz
- that's weird..i think if anything.. I've encountered the exact opposite when I looked for internshiphellojeehae

My portfolio is exclusively on bittorrent

I would lose that whole vector face thing, does nothing to your resume other then that it looks like crap. Something to think about is what is going to happen when he/she prints this out on a B/W printer? Delete the face, tweak some things on the actual 'resume', clean it up and call it a day.

yeah, make it 1 page. (8.5x11) and drop the illustration.

Drop the illustration. This is a resume, not an a-ha video.

Gotta be tough to find a job in this market as a recent graduate

Holy shit lose that face. I doubt anyone is going to hire you based on your ability to be render vain vector portraits of yourself.
Constructively criticizing...
I would clean up the composition of the resume a little bit. It feels very 'clunky'.Your margins are very tight on the top and bottom and I would worry about them either getting cut off or the page being scaled to fit them.
Type-size feels like it's 12pt or larger. Is it? It's too big. Make it 9/12 or 10/12, unless your target is an old, blind curmudgeon who demands larger type size.
Objective statements are always questionable and rarely feel heartfelt and/or personal. I would reconsider it.
- Thanks for the feedback - take out the objective completely or re-write?ejoeyz

For the pdf or any portfolio .. it is best to present your best 8 to 12. Good luck. I am in new york if you need a list of firms when I first started looking for jobs(which was mid June this year) or internship I can send you my excel file of places with contact info organized
