hello team. since 4 weeks, weird stuff happens on my mac. when i save a photoshop generated file (plain white), it appears in every other program yellow. that's funny, because i've used bridge to set all CS4 apps to one color profile... even when i generate a pdf from indesign, white = yellow when i open it.
has anyone got a clue?

it looks yellow? or its actually yellow.. printed n everything
- inkpink0
which color setting did you assign in bridge?
best stick with NA General Purpose 2 or Prepress 2.

and yellow in *all* apps even outside of adobe? osx preview? images on web.
any chance you have your adobe apps set to preview natural paper color? that makes your whites yellow. it's a proof colors setting.

herpes file?

your files have jaundice. i'm sorry to hear that.
- but seriously - could it be some programs are using a different monitor gamma?bulletfactory

could it be your monitor acting weirdly against the color profile. What kind of monitor you rockin?

is white vinegar and the yellow piss?
i think inkpink is onto something up there with http://www.qbn.com/topics/612816…

change your color settings in Bridge to a default Adobe package (like i suggested above) and try again.
i don't know about that rgb and cmyk profile you're using.

i see you've also got "proof colors" checked which makes me think that yellow is the natural paper preview for that weird CMYK profile you're using.
- inkpink0
ok sounds like that FOGRA27 profile isn't all that uncommon. so i dunno.

hmm. the standardsettings seem to work... i don't get it, since i have changed nothing ever since. i am working with these profiles since years now, and they always seemed to work fine...
maybe the snow leo and the PS update fucked something up...

your screenshot is not the Bridge dialogue. are you making changes in Bridge so that it applies to all your apps?

your rgb values are 244 244 255? In the color picker try setting the LAB values to 100 0 0
- lumedia0
it seems like your CMYK profile thinks that 0/0/0/0 converts to 244 244 255 in RGB. If you are in an RGB document, set the RGB color values to 0 0 0, or set LAB values like i said above.
if that is the case I would try a different CMYK profile or try Colormatch RGB.

it's just weird. i'll go check with a befriended ppdc/photographer asap. thanks for the help!
maybe it is just one of this "ghost in the machine" things that disappear after a new install

btw, is there a decent ICC profile manager out there? something that scans repairs and installs color profiles just like fonts?

the colorsync utility in applications > utilities

problem solved?
