isnt it irrelevant wether or not agencies have budgets that can afford that sort of entry fee? if the idea is to shine light on talented individuals, 500 automatically puts most of us out. people still work their asses off because they feel strongly about something, not just because it will fatten their wallet.

you people still care about awards?

hahaha - just sour grapes on my part (not about the people who enter or the competition itself) - just that I dont have any money :-D

Seriously?
Little guy or not, I wouldn't pay $500 beans to enter a contest on principal alone. That's insane.

which is why you typically see the same guys winning the same awards year in and year out... which, of course, is not to say that they dont make good - even great - work...

Most of the entries are generated at large agencies where the client is paying millions for elaborate campaigns across several forms of media. The entry fee is minor compared to the invoice and the time and energy spent on the work. But, we all knew that...right?

makes it hard for us little guys without retainer clients to enter :-(
ah well... SOME DAY!!! (looks to the sky)

Do you have what it takes?
Do you have $200 to $500 to spend per entry? If you answer yes to both questions, the ADC Awards is right for you!Are they FU$#in kidding?
