If I have already exported a JPEG at 100% quality. I would like to take that jpeg and optimize it.
Is it okay to just open the exported jpeg and optimize it? Or should I re-export the JPEG from the original PSD?Thanks for the help!

Re-exporting is only a few extra mouse-clicks... just do that?

well I have many many images that have complicated background and so many layers. To go back and re-export everything going to burn up so much time. I am wondering if I can just take all those jpegs and optimize them? Considering they have been all exported at 100% quality...
- In that case I don't see why not? JPGs aren't lossless though don't forget so just don't do it too many times...Raniator
- Thanks! yea it would be only one export.Claymantis

you can, but you will always loose some quality on the re-compression of the jpg. if you don't notice any difference or if you're ok with the result, then do it.

Starting with a 100% JPEG and compressing there is fine. If it was already optimized, then I'd say use the PSD, but if it was saved as the highest quality then there will not be any noticeable difference.
We do this all the time (as many of our PSDs get into the 500-1000mb range).
