Does anyone have a recommendation for a fairly dope color laser printer that can handle 11x17 and maybe even some heavier weight printers. Looking into this HP model:

i just got an epson stylus photo 1400... it's really solid, and you can't beat the price.

out of curiosity, why are you going for a laser in particular, and not an inkjet?

@bigtrick Looking for ever day off stuff as well as some oddball large prints for comps and small poster runs etc. Did you have an inkjet you would suggest? Thanks!

i was just thinking that your money might be better spent on a cheapish fast laser for letter/legal sized office stuff plus a nice inkjet for big 11x17 color work.

We've got an HP DesignJet 30n here at the studio. It takes up to 13x19" There's one size larger that takes roll-media which we also considered. The ink usage on them is very good. I guess you could use it as you're every-day printer as well, but we've got an HP colour laser for that, just regular letter-sized.

Both of those together will be cheaper than a tabloid-sized laser, I'd think.

The B&W laser and the nicer bubble jet has also been a consideration! Thanks guys.

bigtrick + pylon - when you say cheaper, are you referring to initial investment...or over the long run?
I've had a r1800 and hated the ink usage, my brother is in the market and were looking at trying laser, initial cost isn't a factor
