I really like the Westin, Paramount, Sheraton, W in downtown Seattle. These are all safe bets and you can not go wrong. The Max is also pretty cool, small rooms and pretty trendy. You may also look into staying at the Marriot in Bellevue.
Redmond to Downtown or vice versa is not a bad commute, but if not prepared can be a nightmare. My two cents.

Don't stay in Redmond, traffic will suck BAD if you choose the wrong time to travel. Downtown is good. Every "designer" loves the Ace hotel, it's cool, but I'll take a standard place. The W was nice, but probably pricey.
- why is designer in quotes? I stayed there and quite enjoyed it.flashbender

i stayed at the Mediterranian, in Queen Anne. It really isnt as good as the pictures would make it appear.

Thanks, guys! I'll look into these. Redmond sucks...I'd never want to get stuck there.

as jfletcher said. Ace hotel is cool and has comfortable beds with cozy wool blankets.

When I was visiting last summer, Edgwater kept coming up on travel sites, but I'm happy I didn't stay there. The reviews sounded meh, and when i walked by the location, t actually kinda sucked.
I stayed at Hotel Andra and loved it.
