Crash course would also be nice. I was asked by a college friend of mine how to do it, and I explained it as best as I could but I haven't done much. So if you have or do this regularly, let us know your process/materials please, it would be helpful in the future...
- I suppose I could put together a How ToSugary

to get the image on the screen I would print my design onto a transparency and then go over it again with a black sharpie to make sure it was solid black. Then set up my light about 2 feet over the screen and turn it on for 20 minutes. Then wash it out and you're good to go.
Do you have any experience with silk screening? Or are you looking for a crash course.

You could buy a flash dryer for 250, I sold mine last year.

What methods do you all use for heat setting?

a lot of local shops will make them for you, i used to do that on occasion. i also made them at home, went to pearl, got some screen fabric, a bottle of photo emulsion and a little squeegee thing to apply it and a 125 watt lightbulb from the hardware store.
- thanks, I would probably get better pricing by hitting up the local shopsatomholc

Anybody send their designs off to get made?
Sugary, can you explain more on the process and where you get your supplies from? Seems you have a low-tech way mastered.

i used a 500 watt stage light. Bought it off ebay with 500 watt lightbulb for $35. With that much light my exposure time for my screens was only like 20 minutes. Can't beat that.

I have been wanting to do the same! Any suggestions on Exposure units/light boxes? I have been considering building my own, but am thinking it would just be easier and more effiicent to get a real one! Any advice would be great!
