you don't need that to sketch on the go, there are plenty of tablet pcs capable of supporting both raster and vector based applications

    • very few have pressure sensitivity, which is pretty important for natural drawing.monNom1/5
well... important to me anyway. All the wacom ones are to pricey.monNom2/5
Size is important! I have a 22" Cintiq at home, but would love a small tablet thats good for sketching on the goribit3/5
and haven't seen anything yet thats small enough or clever enough.. until this...ribit4/5
I also have Sketchbook Mobile on iPhone, but its a bit small really, and finger is too big...ribit5/5

Love the UI design but I wonder if it will carry through to the final production model. Microsoft tends to suck the life out of cool things.

I guess "first details" is a great way to get attention with a headline but this is the Codex project coming to fruition, plenty of info about that out there.

Looks like some dude's rejected early concept of an Apple tablet. So much so that I can't believe it's real.

I'm just trying to imagine the frenzy if this thing had an Apple logo on it.

    • i jizzed in my pants just by reading that sentenceemukid1/2
the reason why people can't get as excited over it is because windows really does suck. it does look like it has potential though.ephix2/2

if done right, a tablet could make a sweet portable device. i'd really like to see apple come in with their usual quality engineering and do something with this idea. if microsoft beats them to it, go ms. I could definitely see a use for something like this though.

not only that, but the damn thing just looks fun to use... kinda like an iphone :)

I think its great! I could so use this, especially for sketching and note taking in meeting. I'm also curious to see what apple does, but thats not to say I'll take the apple sight unseen. Because this bad boy looks awesome!

Will it actually work, considering that it is a Microsoft product?

I think MS have actually done something that could work and actually looks pretty sweet. I'm all for the leather cover :-)

I didn't read the article, but will it run any kind of OS? or will it be a simple electronic sketchpad?

It'd be nice if it were open-source so other companies could develop all kinds of apps so as a user I wouldn't have to open 'MS Office Courier 2010 Professional Edition'....
