AT&T Free Msg: Picture & video messaging (MMS) will be available for iPhone on 9/25. While we prepare your account for MMS capability, the current "view my message" experience will be turned off but your ability to send and receive text messages will not be affected.

I just came here to express my frustration with AT&T. It has been a fucking nightmare once I switched from T-Mobile for iPhone. I love iPhone, I don't think it's over-hyped. It's just a great device. However the fucking provider that comes with it make my life miserable. Drop calls - 90% of the time. Missed calls - a lot. Voice mail - the notification comes from 1 day to 1 week late!!! What the fuck is that????? On the top of that they are being quiet about that.
They make us look as we ignore calls, don't return calls or just simply hang on others.They are building their own coffin. Voice plans will died out the same way as landlines are about to be extinct.

I'm about to drop AT&T for T-Mobile.
Gouged on data that's mediocre.
Gouged on voice that doesn't work properly.
Gouged on text messages. You can have either like 250 a month or unlimited for way more. No in between.Once they flip the switch on MMS the whole system is going to come to a crawl. I may just switch before the weekend.

I love the iphone, looks great, apps are great, internet email, music is an amazing toy, but as a phone IT SUCKSI can care less about sending images, I want to be able to talk on the phone without dropping calls all the time

I might be saying something that's already been said, but you have to figure that MMS was not included on the iphone (when it is on other AT&T phones) because the iphone so greatly promotes taking photos? The photos are also higher quality than most other phones, correct, and thus larger file sizes?
So it really comes down to network infrastructure, and that's it, right?
