I'm waiting for the MacBook Wheel...

Agreed I checked them side by side in an Apple store, the matte looks like an afterthought not there by design. It really needs an antiglare glass option.
I've decided to wait till next revision because of this and see what the 'proper' solution might turn out to be.

i got a glossy screen, and rarely have issues. i'd go glossy again for sure - agree with the tracing paper comment.

do the glossy screen have richer colours, or is there no difference?

Matte. I have a glossy 13" and I hate the reflections. The only purpose of putting glossy coating over a screen is that people unconsciously associate shiny things with quality. They remind them of old glass TV screens too. They feel glass, not plastic.

I was dead set against getting a matte as I love glossy displays, but the MBP matte screen is great. Wouldn't go back to gloss now.

I hate my glossy screen... when working with blacks/greys I need to change my clothing accordingly or I can't see shit, other than my dumb face...

I'm the same, have the glossy MPB 15in. had no choice when buying -- it can be a bit annoying at times for sure. so i'd go with the matte screen, if i had had a choice at the time would have gone with that!

Office work (graphics and coding) with no external monitor for me, but I always change office and light situations are very different.

I have a glossy MBP15. I had no choice when I bought mine, it was an emergency and I took what they had in stock. I also have a matte ibook 13" and I think I prefer the glossy. The view is much richer and by comparison a matte screen is a bit like looking through a piece of tracing paper.
I generally only use my MBP sat at home in the evenings when there is no strong light hitting it, so maybe it would drive me nuts if I was using it as a work machine in an office, or out and about.

While Jordy has a point, it really boils down to personal preference and what you intend on doing with it. Some love the glossy, some absolutely hate it. The best thing you could probably do is head down to an Apple retailer and compare both screens for yourself.
Having said that, I'd go matte.

Matte for sure! The glare is gonna annoy you so much! It's so bad you can't compare color anymore .. apple has had lots of complaints from the design industry, that's why they brought back the antiglare / matte option ...

Hi guys,
I'm about to buy a MacBook Pro 15".
Any personal experience to share about the monitor?
MacBook Pro now comes with the option "Antiglare / Glossy", I found so little on the internet about this...
