Have any of you taught anywhere? If so, what did you teach?

I taught music theory at a university for two years, as well as about a hundred private music students (mostly guitar, some theory).
Also taught several music ensembles for kids, their first organized ensemble, basically.

I'd like to learn how to teach - but I haven't taught anywhere .. I reckon I'd need to get to a point where I've proven myself before I'd be able to though. There's a nasty phrase 'those who can't teach'.. and think that probably affects the quality of education a lot (at least it might in the UK).

Question! I am about to teach a Design class at a local Uni and have a few ideas on how I want the class to develop but I was wondering, do any of you have experience with teaching? What do you think would interest the students other than theory? Group exercises? Videos? I want to make sure I cover all angles but also that they feel good about the class, and that they enjoy it. Thanks!

I come from a family of teachers, actually had my father and step mother as teachers in high school. I spent a year living and traveling in China teaching conversational English to everyone from 7 years old to 60 years old. One of the best experiences

Teach them all of the practical, useful business-minded stuff that college wont. It's a rough life for fresh design graduates who have no business acumen.
