is this a timeline?
How, you might ask, could such a colossal oversight come to pass? How could someone install a $40 million scoreboard and not take into consideration the fact that games are played beneath it?

HAHA! It's funny bc it's the Cowboys and the Cowboys are the Kanye West of football.
*inserts Simpsons pointing HAHA! kid here

It will be interesting to see how the teams will punt the ball.

ha ha ha ha ha ha.... oh my sides hurt.
massive Design Fail, and on one side of the ground the screen will be showing the action opposite to the flow of the action below.
Money doesn't cure everything!

I heard or read someplace that the thing can be lowered and raised at will but Jerry Jones insists on leaving it at that height which is like 3 feet from the league standard.

well, it is very interesting. This should result in squib kicks and or longer punts that will have a shorter hang time and just end up in better field position for the opposing team(s)

That is one MONUMENTAL fail.

I'm not a Cowboys fan by any stretch (I pretty much root for any team that plays them), however they're in the right on this one. The board is 5ft above the height set by the NFL rules.

^^ Good point, dedlaast. All the people saying "fail" are lazy, knee-jerking idiots because the Cowboys organization IS right on this one. The screen exceeds the NFL's height requirement.

It should be noted that A.J. Trapasso intentionally punted into that scoreboard. That's not the way professional kickers punt. Therefore, any punts this season that hit an obstruction in the stadium will be deemed a "do-over".
Still funny, though.

And I'd timeline ya if the NFL's pre-season wasn't so colossally boring.
;)

That thing is so over the top and gaudy. I have talked to friends who have gone to the preseason games and they say it's a distraction from the actual game.
They told me they might as well be at home watching it on there flat screen instead of that ridiculous thing.

Oh, and that new stadium is right where I lived for 3 1/2 years in college. All those memories destroyed...
In fact, that apartment complex directly above the right side of the stadium was the last place I lived. The previous one for about 3 years or so was kind of in the upper left where the parking lot is.

A whole lot, mg33!! hahaha

I could give a fuck less. I'll be out there next year to check out a game and/or SuperBowl. An oversized scoreboard is the least of my concerns during a football game.
- So I'm guessing reading the whole article was at the bottom of your priorities list too then?dMullins
