Extend Linksys WRT160n v2 range using AirPort

I am currently using a Linksys WRT160n v2 Wireless Router in my home, but the signal in certain places is quite weak. Therefore, I bought an AirPort Express and was told that this could be used to boost my signal to the weak areas.
I am not sure how to accomplish this and need help!! I realize that using an AirPort Extreme Router would be easier, I just don't have the cash to purchase one right now. Is there anyone who can guide me through setting up my AirPort as a range extender for my Linksys WRT160n v2 Router?

i can put you in touch with a friend who just did this if you'd like... this is what he posted on my buddy's message board today:
---DD-WRT is awesome. I turned a crappy linksys wireless router (which would freeze up all the time for no reason, so I wasn't using it) into a kickass wireless access point.
It only took a few minutes to install the dd-wrt firmware. And to think I was about to run to microcenter and buy a 50+ dollar access point, then toss this linksys in the garbage. Score one for reuse.

depends on the version right? i had a wrt-54g v.5 that began to crap out on a regular basis. i couldn't flash it so i just picked up belkin.--
Yeah, the v5 and v6 models (I have a v6) are crippled (they have less memory than the original versions) by linksys, and I guess some of them don't flash well. I was lucky, and mine just worked. From what I was reading, the flashing process for these crippled routers has gotten a lot better in the past couple years.
They actually sell a WRT54GL (for Linux) that has the same amount of memory as the original version, specifically so that you can flash it easily. Lame.

Easiest way, is to run the built in wizard, I fought with one of these for a few hours, and then, ran the wizard, and BOOM, worked the first time as an extension of the other router.
