I don't know web sites but I know what I hate . . . and I don't hate this.

not sure about the testimonial..kinda hokey..but that's just me.

no matter what you do, it will be templaty. You looked at too many templaty sites.
- also the previous version was more interestingPupsipu
- Hmm.. in what way? What was more interesting about the previous one?unik
- And do you mean that I personally looked at too many template-y sites? I haven't looked at any...unik
- it's just that web 2.0 trend, too many templates in that. Look at cargocollective.com those look less templaty for now.Pupsipu
- more interesting to have more colors and different thumbnails on the front page. If user doesn't like a one and only project preview, you're fuckedPupsipu
- project preview, you're fucked. Multiple thumbnails means more chances to interest someone.Pupsipu
- Good idea. Thanks =)unik

The lighter grey version looks better than the darker version. Are you going for the Web 2.0 look and feel?
- dMullins0
I think the lighter version is more visually rich IMO.

I'm in favor of keeping the testimonial. Sites like yelp, tripadvisor, megan's list, etc are all big because people like to hear from other people.
- get rid of the testimonials, you're not selling vacuum cleanersjimbojones

mixing gotham and helvetica (turns to arial on wondoze) is a really good idea. not sure about UNI<DESIGN some will read it as UNK I'm sure. not sure about colours. not sure what I should eat for dinner.
- I read 'unik' as eunuch, but perhaps that's just me.pylon

there's a handy little thing known as the gird, look it up, give it a go... You need some structure and better organisation of the content... Don't use so many different typesizes as well, no more than three..
- look up grid not gird. look up girl while you're at it.jimbojones
- haha, oops..neue75_bold

The whole Web 2.0 aesthetic trend is over. Let's leave that way.
That being said, I think your design has potential.
- Bring the relevant content to your users immediately (more projects on the frontpage).
- Align your different elements better (use a grid).
- Use a clear hierarchy in your type.
- Loose the wet floor effects.Keep us posted. :)
