If it were my first attempt at a site, I'd not bother with the fancy JQUery next/last navigation. Instead, make long vertical site, and focus on learning enough CSS to get the results you seen in your head / in photoshop.
Once you've got that done, THEN faff around with complex JS interaction.
Imho, anyway - walk before you can run, and all that.

ok now that ive read the actual post.
I would look for setting up a basic page, keep it long and use jQuery scrollTo to do that... it might be a bit complicated to add in the jquery but if you get stuck ask for help.
- < Aye, sorry - that's what I meant - make a normal site first, then plug in The Fancy afterwards.detritus

oh wait, that site is not yours? benfal99 has tricked me, that two-faced cunt.
yeah, better start with simple HTML + CSS, and the sooner you get rid of DW the better.

Would not mind it to be my first site and I do agree with the 'walking before running..', trying to be Mr Bolt whilst still wearing my Dunlops.
Is DW not to be used then?
I would not mind to produce something like Mr Stugoos tea making guide..
Thank you for the comebacks.... back to reading 'Dreamweaver CS4' for dummies..

Don't think so much about the software, think about what you want to do... in print design, there's Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and sometimes Quark... in web stuff, there's Photoshop and a whole lot of other options, many of which constrain you far differently than the tools in print design...

I would make the navigation bigger, and a little more margin from the top of the page, bring in the up and down arrows a bit (or make them thicker) and let me know when a link leads to a .pdf please..nothing freezes a browser like unexpectedly loading a pdf...
- Oh never mind..I misunderstood what was going on here. As you were.TheBlueOne
- Sorry for freezing up your browser. I appreciate the crit. I'll be making some changes!someryan

Please someone get benfal here again and have him read the post properly.
I agree with detritus, make sure you learn the basics first. Don't try to over-do-it on your first attempt. In college they taight prob 2 classes about web and flash but they were a joke. Check kirupa and other tutorial sites like that and practice. And, if you can, take some night courses, I did, and it helped me a lot.
