These days, before you can even get in the door for a interview, you have to show samples and have a website of your work. But once you get that interview, whats the best way to present your work, the traditional leather bound portfolio or bring a laptop with maybe a keynote presentation or what???

why would you be showing prints for an interactive position?

have it online and bring it on a DVD or hard drive just in case their network is fucked

Normally they look up your site on a computer.

start a thread here and post your screenshots... if interview is going downhill proceed to gif animation thread

Actually a funny gag might be to print out screens of your interactive work onto those plastic laminate sheets that cling to glass. Then toss one on their screen and say "see - this is what my site would look like on your computer."

Powerpoint that shit and get one of these to present with >
http://www.logitech.com/index.cf…You'll be able to stand, look the person in the eyes, and present your work and never have to put the mouse down on a solid surface. Its a mouse and pointer device.
*no point in leather folio for interactive

pick out a single project and show them what happened at every stage - take them on a journey...
1 initial client brief > 2 obligatory shot of whiteboard from brainstorm > 3 competitive product analysis > 4 wireframes > 5 visual design through to signoff > results...

Nice! Thats a great idea.
- ask in advance if there is a particular site from your folio they want you to talk aboutSlashPeckham

in the past ive been on a few interviews for online roles and they expected me to show work in print format

Your work should blow them away. You shouldn't have to hand-hold them through the process at that level of position.

if you get called in, they have better taken a look at your work beforehand. i had an ECD on the interactive side interview me once, first thing she asked was: "sooooooo..... did you bring anything to show me?" -- uhh what? everything is online...
i find that over the phone for an initial interview is the best,... saves your time...

I always walk into an interview with a portfolio site made specifically for that presentation. Offline of course because you shouldn't count on an internet connection. + a business card/resume/"leave behind" that has a link back to your email/online portfolio/phone #
