my laptop feels all electro fuzzy, and i have shitty static through my amp and speakers. i know why, it's because my none of the outlets in my apt are earthed. anyone else have this?
how do i earth my house or even just my laptop/amp? the house has plastic water pipes throughout.

get a power conditioner - it might help. your place should be grounded, it's illegal if it's not (depending on the age and location of the building) You may just have a grounding loop if you have static, clicks and pops through your amp and speakers. If your amp is plugged into the same outlet as your TV you can get problems with cable interference. Try shielded cables and a surge protector. Would be careful of power surges. Without surge protection, you could blow your laptop.

only some parts of the house are grounded i think it's always a surprise to pop open a socket and take a look.
is it possible to ground a single socket? if i stand barefoot holding a headphone jack, the static noise reduces!
- it's all due to Arial Narrow... do you have this on a t-shirt????Amicus
